We cordially invite you to join Rising Appalachia and beloved friends for an intimately rowdy immersive retreat of music, art, and workshops at Beyul Retreat in the Colorado Rockies. This three-night retreat will feature full band concerts from Rising Appalachia, late-night dance sets, music writing workshops from the band, morning yoga, skiing, snowshoe opportunities, poetry, reflection, outdoor adventure, and more. Featuring the full (including Chloe) cast of Rising Appalachia members, we will be teaching and performing throughout the weekend and being joined by Beyul Retreat’s incredible teaching staff. Throughout your days, you’ll have opportunities to craft your own songs, art, meditations, rest, and winter wilderness together amidst the aspens with a plentitude of play in the wild wonderland of private 32 acres of winter wonderland. In the expansive embodiment of both song and send, this Deep Winter Retreat is for the powder hounds and the lovers of sound. Hosted by Rising Appalachia and co-created with our dear friends at Beyul, we will expand together in artful convening, sharing with you all what has sweetly shaped and sustained each of us. Come, winter lovers and bowering songbirds, skiiers and yogis, writers and ragers, and join Rising Appalachia and an Intentionally intimate small group of 50. This is a wonderful opportunity to dive deep with the band and hibernate into your craft of poetics, songwriting, and nature worship. Come. Be a CATALYST.
What is Deep Winter Retreat?
It is you. It is us. It is our call to action to bring change in a way that brings healing, action, rest, and medicine. Deep Winter Retreat is for those of us who learn and absorb more in small group settings, surrounded by nature and the beauty of winter light.
Activities and Agenda:
We and our beloved co-facilitators are at the drawing board, pens out, and wonders abound, putting a special three nights and four days together for you now. In the backdrop of all these lovely options, we are thrilled to share nightly concerts, late-night dance parties, song-crafting, harmony singing, yoga and movement, and embodied nature walks. Beyul offers nearly 2,000 feet of river access, a yoga and meditation center open throughout the day, a sauna and cold plunge, a gathering fire in the shared lodge, endless Winterland snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, backcountry skiing for the adventurous, ice skating, and if you’re like most of us: copious amounts of cozy and spectacular stargazing. Included in Ticket:
Ticket prices are tiered by your preferred accommodation (lots of options). With each ticket, you will be served fine, beautifully crafted meals twice a day, Rising Appalachia concerts, an intimate evening acoustic set by members of the band, late evening turntable revelry, and lots of impromptu art, along with a myriad of tastefully thoughtful workshops and activities.
What is not included is your transportation to and from the retreat venue.
This 4-day, 3-night package from Thursday, February 15th to Sunday, February 18th, 2024 includes:
- Full program tuition
- Three nights at Beyul
- Brunch and Dinner every day, dinner on arrival day, and Brunch on exodus day. Gourmet dining highlights seasonal, local, and organic ingredients.
Our lodging is a collection of historic, hand-built, and eclectic cabins and lodges. Rooms & beds in the same tier will vary in size and layout, but all are charming spaces.

- Shared Accommodations Package ($1,513.00)
- This will be a shared room with 2-3 people. It may be a twin or a queen-sized bed. Please note: no animals are allowed, as you will be sharing communal space and the bathroom.
- Private Room with a Shared Bath Package ($1,968.00)
- This will be your own private room; It may be a twin or a queen-sized bed, and your bathroom will be shared. Please note: no animals are allowed, as you will be sharing communal space and the bathroom.

- Private Room with an Ensuite Bath Package ($2,118.00)
- This will be your own private room, with a Queen bed and an attached bathroom. Please note this may be inside a shared cabin. Please note: no animals are allowed, as you will be sharing communal space and the bathroom.

- This will be your own private cabin and bathroom. Dogs are allowed in this option for $50/night

Beyul Retreat is 32 pristine acres surrounded by the White River National Forest, with 1700 feet of Frying Pan river frontage and a lush network of ponds, creeks, and waterfalls among the trails on the property. Hike straight onto the National Forest without getting in your car, and nearby, you’ll find seasonal adventures like rock climbing, horseback riding, & stand-up paddleboarding.
Amenities at Beyul include the hot tub, sauna, cold plunge, river access, hiking trails, yoga classes, and more!
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least one month prior to your scheduled arrival date (January 8th, 2024) to receive a refund. If you cancel less than four weeks before your arrival date, you will be charged for the full reservation amount. It’s important to note that all reservations include a non-refundable deposit of $150.
We HIGHLY recommend that you consider purchasing Travel Insurance. Travel insurance companies like Travel Guard and Trawick offer policies that insure your investment in case you need to cancel (including “cancel for any reason” coverages), coverages for expenses incurred due to weather & travel delays, personal property loss, and emergency travel medical. Please review policies carefully to choose the range you need.
About the Retreat
FAQ:
-What if there is 48” of new snow overnight?
Take to a day of deep winter. Get after it, go into the snow and the mountains, and we’ll see you when you return for hot cocoa to brag all about it.
-Do I need 4WD?
Yes, we’d recommend renting or bringing a vehicle with 4WD and snow tires. There is only one road to get to Beyul, which is plowed daily, though depending on snowfall and weather conditions, getting there can be majestically tricky. Once you do – safely – you likely won’t ever want to leave.
-Can I bring my kids
We love the future generation groomers and welcome you bringing them and their youthful smiles and playfulness. Be prepared for a beautiful, rugged landscape.
